Baldur’s Death
Baldur tries to understand what his father is going through…
Odin has spent his entire life thinking about the Ragnarok… what would he do if it never took place? Baldur worries that Odin’s entire sense of self-worth is bound up in the promise of the entire world being torn to shreds by warring gods, heroes, wolves, and giants.
Unfortunately, according to the Old Stories, Baldur’s premature death is the event that signals the beginning of the end. Baldur worries his refusal to die is standing in the way of his father’s dreams!
It’s quite a burden for a young man to carry on his shoulders. Some kids are responsible for mowing the lawn, but Baldur is responsible for the destruction of the entire universe.
