Freyja
Freyja is a Norse goddess of war and fertility known for being promiscuous, emotional (she frequently cries tears of gold), and despite her role as a patron of battle, generally helpless. In several of the old myths, Freyja is pursued by giants who want to marry her. Luckily, heroic male gods like Thor always manage to save the day before Freyja can be whisked off to some oversized pleasure palace in Giant Land.

Freyja was never held hostage by giants. Idunn was, but never Freyja. You might be confused with her laying with the dwarves for seven days to get her necklace.
Also, she was never considered weak or helpless. Just because the myths that have come down to us mainly deal with the gods doesn’t mean that the goddesses did nothing. There was some evidence that Freyja was the leader of the Valkyries, and was a master of a form of magic. The Lokasenna may have a little rant about her being ‘a slut’, but consider who it was coming from and how that individual tended to lie and corrupt.
