WHAT DOESN’T KILL YOU… MAKES YOU LAUGH!

The days of medieval glory are but distant memories for Odin as he broods in Asgard and observes the world go to pot. Eagerly awaiting the Ragnarok, he does his best to raise his son Baldur with proper medieval values while making sure the plumbing works for the heroes in Valhalla.

While other Viking Gods, including the liberated Freyja and the prankster Loki, have adapted to the modern age, Odin still longs to toss lightning bolts at unsuspecting mortals and decorate his mead hall with the severed heads of giants. Only his son Thor can offer words of comfort — when he is sober enough to speak them.

New comics appear once or twice weekly. Blog posts on Viking-themed issues appear randomly when the Norns decree.

DISCLAIMERS AND OTHER YADDA

Odin and Friends is a work of fiction inspired by Norse mythology. The stories of the Nordic gods have been told and retold, interpreted and reinterpreted, throughout the ages by various storytellers, and I’m proud to be part of that tradition in my own silly way.

This comic is done for entertainment and satirical purposes. If you are looking for accurate information on Vikings, Norse mythology, heathen religion, or Scandinavian history, you are in the wrong place! If you are looking for a great introduction to these things, I recommend reading the following book cover-to-cover, including all the introductory stuff:
